Premium Builder’s Edition comfort with Sitka clarity, Shamel ash warmth and Claria electronics

Overview
The Taylor Builder's Edition 514ce Next Generation Acoustic Electric delivers a warm, powerful Grand Auditorium voice with exceptional comfort and refined modern performance features. A solid Sitka spruce top provides clarity, projection and dynamic range, while Shamel ash back and sides add depth, punchy mids and a rich, resonant character. With Scalloped V-Class bracing, Taylor’s Action Control Neck, Claria electronics and Builder’s Edition ergonomic details, this model is designed for players who want expressive acoustic tone, smooth playability and confident stage-ready versatility.

Features
The Sitka spruce and Shamel ash tonewood pairing gives this guitar a strong, balanced voice with crisp trebles, focused mids and a resonant low end. Sitka spruce responds well to a wide range of playing styles, from delicate fingerstyle to fuller strumming, while Shamel ash contributes warmth, clarity and a dry, woody character that keeps the guitar articulate and musical.

Taylor’s Next Generation design adds Scalloped V-Class bracing with a relief rout to enhance volume, sustain, warmth and open-string resonance. The Action Control Neck brings added practicality to the playing experience, combining a long-tenon neck joint with a patented adjustment system that allows precise string-height microadjustment for dialing in the feel you prefer.

As a Builder’s Edition model, this 514ce is built around comfort as much as sound. The beveled armrest, beveled cutaway and chamfered body edges create a smoother, more relaxed feel against the player, while the Claria Acoustic Pickup System provides Volume, Mid-Contour and Tone controls for shaping amplified sound in live settings. Compass inlays, premium Taylor appointments and an included deluxe hardshell case complete a guitar made for serious players who value tone, feel and refinement.
