Mandala Blanco Tequila｜ Other Products

Mandala Blanco is the unaged tequila from the house that puts its extra añejo in hand-beaded Huichol art bottles — the affordable way into a collector's brand. Arturo Lomelí Ibarra founded Mandala in 2016 with Humberto Ibarra and José Joel García Barreto in the Los Altos highlands, with a mission Flaviar sums up as making a tequila worth savoring for the US and a bottle worth keeping; the house is a multiple international award winner, and its ceramics are painted by local artisans. The Blanco is 100% highland blue Weber agave, selected at peak maturity, cooked in traditional brick ovens, double-distilled, and bottled unaged at 40% ABV; check the listing for bottle size and format. Flaviar: a great clear tequila for the drinker who prefers unaged, and the base of the Mandala Sunrise and a classic Margarita. Expect a clean nose of cooked agave, citrus, and a floral highland sweetness with white pepper, opening into a smooth, medium-bodied palate of agave, lime, and a faint minerality with an easy finish. Honest note: Mandala is a decanter brand and this is its simplest bottle — buy it for the Margarita and the brand's smooth, sweet-leaning highland style, and keep the ceramic if it came in one.
